Milwaukee Road 4-8-4 261 will be back in steam for the first time since 2008 this May, running an excursion over the ex-Great Northern line from Minneapolis-Duluth, MN on May 11-12 as part of National Train Day. Upon arrival at Duluth, an excursion with Soo Line 4-6-2 2719 over the North Shore Scenic Railroad with some of the 261’s cars will be followed by a night photo session at the Lake Superior Railroad Museum (home of 2719), located at the former Duluth Union Depot.
Count me in!
